I started my grooming career at the London Academy of Grooming with Gill East and went on to operate a successful grooming business and dog boarding kennel for many years. During that time, I also completed a two-year vet nursing course at Glasgow Veterinary College.

Scotgroom groomer training centre was started in 1999 and since then I have trained many groomers who have gone on to run successful businesses and compete nationally and internationally.

I have competed internationally and was a GroomTeam Scotland member in 1999 in London, UK, in 2001 in Calgary, Canada, in 2005 in Montpellier, France and in 2007 in Milan, Italy.
I have also received, amongst other awards, the Cardinal Crystal International Groomer of the Year 2004 at Intergroom, New Jersey, USA and was an International Gold medallist in 2005.
I have been on the judging team at Eurogroom Prague Best and Dublin. My free time is spent showing and judging Standard, Miniature and Toy Poodles and various Gundog breeds with great success.

I hold a distinction pass in City and Guilds 7750 (now called Level 3 Diploma), the Advanced Grooming Diploma (now called the Higher Diploma) and have been awarded the LCGI Licentiateship in dog grooming (recognising master craftsman in Europe).
I was honoured to be invited to join the Guild of Master Groomers and the Cardinal Crystal Academy.
Other qualifications I hold include units in Training and Development and a Further Education Adult Teaching Certificate.
