Q: My white Lurcher has decided to chew a pen when I wasn't looking the other night and she now has blue ink all down one of her thighs. I've bathed her and it has lessened the colour but she is still rather blue. Any ideas what I can do to get it out?

A: Oooh, That's a tricky one. I think it’s something I would simply live with until it sheds out. Lurchers are a fur-bearing breed and I personally wouldn't take scissors or clippers to them. If you are really unhappy, why not add a bit of Bicarb of Soda to the shampoo you use. This really helps the cleaning process and might be just what you need to get rid of that pesky ink. If you don’t have any luck, your local professional groomer may be able to come up with a fabulous solution. Whatever you do though, don’t use any bleaching agent. It's simply not worth it and could be detrimental to your dogs' health and wellbeing. To find your local professional groomer, go to our 'search'.
